Ilkley event promotes group
2:09pm Thursday 15th August 2013 in News
The Ilkley branch of KIVCA is a locally-focused office providing information, advice and support to voluntary and community groups in Ilkley. Services offered include assistance with leaflet and print design and reproduction.
The Travelling Tea Ladies are Guiseley-based Becky Mears and her friend Lynne Burns. Becky and they are delighted to be supporting the Ilkley office.
They said: “We love popping-up our tea room at unusual venues and we are delighted that we can use Ilkley’s beautiful bandstand - it’s an ideal place to set up a tea room for a day.”
Tea room visitors can expect to find the bandstand decorated with beautiful bunting, tables set with embroidered tablecloths, homemade cakes and savouries served on tiered stands and tea served in pretty china tea services accompanied by background music from the 1940s and 1950s.
Volunteers from KIVCA’s Ilkley will also be there to talk to people about their work.
The Vintage Tea Ladies use local and seasonal produce and on the cake menu will be Ilkley bilberry muffins, gooseberry crumble cake and redcurrant drizzle cake.
The tearoom will be open between 12noon and 4pm on Friday, August 23.
