CITY will head for Austria as part of their pre-season preparations.

The club have announced their warm-up programme ahead of the 2024/2025 campaign – and it includes a week’s training in the Alpine village of Obertraun.

The Bantams will stay in the resort, where manager Graham Alexander has taken several teams before, from July 19 to 25. They will play a game against local opposition on Wednesday, July 24.

The squad return to pre-season training on Monday, June 24 before opening their fixture schedule away to National League North side Chorley on Saturday, July 6.

The following Saturday they travel to another sixth-tier opponent as City face Alexander's former club Scunthorpe.

After the players fly back from Austria, Championship Sunderland will provide the opposition for the only home friendly on Tuesday, July 30 (7.30pm kick-off).

The final warm-up takes place on Saturday, August 3 at National League play-off semi-finalists Altrincham. The League Two campaign kicks off a week later.

A City XI will travel to Pickering Town on Tuesday, July 9 and Bradford (Park Avenue) on July 23 – when the senior squad are in Austria.

City will also play two behind-closed-doors training ground games.
