AT LEAST half a dozen police cars swooped on a suspected stolen vehicle after a chase along the M62 which ended around 15 miles from where it started.
The drama started to unfold when the driver of an Audi failed to stop near Brighouse. The pursuit continued past Junction 26 at Chain Bar and was finally brought to a conclusion near Junction 30 at Rothwell Interchange.
An arrest has been made following the high-profile incident.
West Yorkshire Police deployed a number of resources to the motorway, with a Tactical Pursuit and Containment Unit and a Dogs Unit providing assistance to the West Yorkshire Roads Policing Unit.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit said the Audi was sighted on the M62 and "failed to stop from junctions 25 to 30."
Police said the driver stopped near Junction 30 and the vehicle was recovered.
